The Economic Development Team of the CLD Pontiac is pleased with the first governmental strategy devoted exclusively to support entrepreneurship. November 15, the Prime Minister, Jean Charest, the Premier of the Province of Quebec, Innovation and Exportation Development (MDEIE), Sam Hamad, and also the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports, Line Beauchamp, announced a new strategy : ‘’Go for it! All of Quebec admire you’’, forecasting an investment of 450M$ over three years to stimulate entrepreneurship and develop an entrepreneurial culture. Five sectors are targeted:
- Valorize the profession of an entrepreneur;
- Develop an entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurial skills in the school setting;
- Support entrepreneurship at all stages of business development;
- Optimize the support by reducing and simplifying administrative procedures;
- Stimulate regional communities for local concerted action
As the CLDs will be the preferred gateways to implement this strategy locally, the CLD Pontiac will consildate and reinforce its intervention. Therefore, these are tools to support innovative projects in the Pontiac!
Since 2010, the CLD have invested nearly $465,000 in development projects in the five sectors of the Vision 2020 strategic plan. Projects such as business start-up, support for diversification of activities, help for succession and the exploration of business opportunities were particularly supported.
