The 2011-2012 MRC Pontiac Rural Pact Call for Projects has now been launched. The closing date is March 15th, 2012 and selected projects will be announced at the end of March 2012.
MRC developmental projects involving several municipalities and/or priorities will be highly prioritized. The main orientations are Tourism, Social & Community, Culture, Agriculture (transformation), Forestry (transformation), and the Environment. The Success Factors have been determined as Maintenance and Development of Infrastructure, Educational & Training Offer, the Consolidation of Governance and Networks as well as Sustainable Development. The Priorities and Success Factors are based on the results of the MRC/CLD/SADC Strategic Planning exercise, Vision Pontiac 2020.
Any registered non-profit organization, non-financial cooperative or municipality that has a project respecting the above orientations and priorities is welcome to apply. The MRC Pontiac’s Rural Pact has been in place since 2001 and has been the springboard for such innovative community projects as the Pontiac’s first Youth Migration Officer, Place for Youth, TransporAction, the Maisons des Jeunes, Fibre Picanoc Broadband High Speed Internet, Pontiac in Motion as well as many more.
