After 12 years of operation, the historic Bryson House launched a new Internet site, www.brysonhouse.org. The website highlights the multiple functions of the house as a museum, an archive centre and a tea room, and also hosts a calendar of events.
“The calendar will make it easier for the public to find out what’s happening at the house, while visitors will find information that will help them prepare their visit to the Pontiac,” explains Joelle Laroche, President of the Bryson House Association.
Its new presence on the Web and on Facebook, and the tea room which opened last summer, earned Bryson House a finalist spot for a tourism industry award at the Gala des Grands Prix du Tourisme de l’Outaouais to be held in Gatineau on April, 4th.
“This recognition is a first for us and we hope the first of many with all the new developments in the plans. We are currently working on making the House a recognized cultural centre for the Pontiac. We are also planning new activities this year, such as music lessons and conferences. The will and the ideas are there, but we’re desperately short of volunteers to help us organise these activities. Anyone interested is welcome.”
The Website was realized in collaboration with the CLD’s Social Economy program.
